Dr Stefan Ketels began his medical career in 1997 after graduating with a medical degree from the Catholic University of Leuven. He then continued his cardiology training at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel, where he completed his specialisation in 2004. Following his training, Dr Ketels undertook a fellowship in electrophysiology at AZ St Jan Bruges (2004-2006), where he further developed his in-depth knowledge of heart rhythm disorders and their treatment.
Dr Ketels is currently working at Hartcentrum Kust, focusing on general cardiology, heart failure and electrophysiology. He also works as an electrophysiologist at AZ Maria Middelares in Ghent and at Mediport Medical Centre. His work experience is broad and varied. Dr Ketels previously worked in both general cardiology and electrophysiology in various hospitals, including AZ St Jan in Bruges, UZA (University Hospital Antwerp) and UZ Ghent. He also worked as a consultant cardiologist at UZ Ghent and was active as a cardiologist-electrophysiologist at Isala Clinics in Zwolle, the Netherlands. He is currently working at Hartcentrum Kust, focusing on general cardiology, heart failure and electrophysiology, and also works as an electrophysiologist at AZ Maria Middelares in Ghent.
