My fascination with the pelvic floor arose during my master's thesis on children experiencing difficulties with toilet training. This marked the beginning of my journey through various courses. It quickly became clear that pelvic floor complaints can have a significant impact on patients' daily lives. These complaints are not only physically uncomfortable but can also be emotionally burdensome. Many people find it difficult to talk about these issues. As a therapist, it is crucial to create a safe and confidential environment where patients feel comfortable discussing their complaints. I find it particularly rewarding to witness patients making progress and improving their quality of life. The gratitude and relief they experience when they notice their symptoms diminishing make the work of a pelvic floor therapist incredibly valuable and satisfying.
